the True History of the BLUE LADY (Formerly SS NORWAY and SS FRANCE) Compiled in good faith by Wilfred L. Guerin from May 25th, 2003 through July 29th,
2007. Background: Being an inquisitive type by nature, the widespread mass media coverage of a freak "boiler explosion" on a cruise ship in the Port of Miami by American media outlets without presenting a vessel's name generated curiosity over the weekend of May 25th, 2003. Research through numerous convoluted news articles and other sources -- all mass media having no name for the vessel -- exposed the identity of the cruise ship as the SS NORWAY, historic flagship of Norwegian Cruise Lines. While searching for correlating revelations, there was an excess of news related to Norway and their "Interests" in the prior week. Al
Qaeda senior ranking commander and spokesperson for the terrorist organization,
Ayman al-Zawahiri, had released an audio tape which was presented in
May, 2003 through the mass media outlet al-Jazeera, indicating an explicit
threat on the "interests of Norway" and broadcast a week prior
the "boiler explosion" on SS NORWAY. What is the Significance?
As of July 26th, 2007, this same vessel currently named "BLUE LADY"
is under investigation by the SUPREME COURT of INDIA as to the integrity
of its purported current owners' claim that it should be broken at Alang
ship yard in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat (India) despite concern for
the integrity of its documentation and related environmental concerns. Where do these concerns come from? After the "boiler explosion" in 2003, the American TSA (NTSB is now DHS) investigated the incident in Miami, but never actually filed or published a final report. The
vessel (SS NORWAY) was then dragged to northern Europe under speculation
of repairs, sold to numerous entities without a clean paper trail or
history, refused entry for breaking in numerous countries, allowed into
Indian territory for mooring at Pipavav ( Pipavav.com ) ONLY on the
basis of humanitarian issues during monsoon season, then illegally beached
at Alang near the current owner's breaking facility. Why Does This Seem So Strange? Despite
globally recognized conventions on vessels, shipping, hazardous materials,
ship-breaking and related policy as included in the Basel Convention
and elsewhere, the vessel (SS NORWAY) left a partial TSA investigation
after a very questionable emergency event to land -- without any legitimate
authority -- high on the beach at this ship breaker's facility in Alang,
India. The HIGH COURT of the state of Gujarat passed the situation to
the SUPREME COURT of India, one of the world's largest nations, after
having no findings on the vessel's mysterious "sneaking-in"
to the breaker's beach terminal facility. My primary concern: Why would the American mass media be so interested in a single event ("boiler explosion" on SS NORWAY May 25th, 2003) but conspire comprehensively to withhold the most fundamental element of information: the vessel's name? Anyone can saw at a pipe until it bursts, saw at a fuel line until it catches fire, saw on a high pressure containment vessel until it explodes. SS NORWAY's incident happened AFTER docking at the Port of Miami after many years of operation with limited or no incident during normal transit conditions over a half century of operation. Any engineer will immediately speculate that the most plausible cause was a flow irregularity (bubble) or mechanical failure (pipe or boiler wall breach). But
why in Miami in 2003, unexpectedly and with no warning, and under extremely
strange circumstances and context? Of course, it would be rational --
in the American government's mind -- to limit public fright, concern,
and speculation on the incident by requesting the media withhold the
vessel's highly coincidental name until further review, especially after
having shut down and evacuated all political liaison in the country
of Norway and armored the Norwegian consulate in DC with military protection,
but why? What of the follow-up proceedings, investigation,

ELEANOR HALL: Well now to the latest threats issued via the airwaves by al-Qaeda. Norway, one of the countries mentioned in the latest al-Qaeda tape, says it's surprised it's been named, but is taking the threat seriously. In the tape, broadcast by the Al-Jazeera Network, Osama bin Laden's Deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, mentions the Scandinavian country among its latest list of Western targets. EXCERPT OF ALLEGED AL-QAEDA TAPE [Translated]: "Strike at interests of United States, England, Australia and Norway. Hit their interests and their people." ELEANOR HALL: But Norway's Ambassador to Australia, Ove Thorsheim, says the Norwegian government has no idea why the country may have been singled out by al-Qaeda. However, Mr Thorsheim says Norwegian interests around the globe are on alert, and authorities here are working closely with the Australian government on risk assessment. The Ambassador spoke to our reporter Tanya Nolan a short time ago. OVE THORSHEIM: We are informing all our embassies and consulates all over the world of the threats and asking them to inform, in turn, the Norwegians in their area and ask them to be alert. Yet so far the threats have not been substantiated and I must also say there is no reason to believe that Norwegian interests in Australia should be particularly targeted and we at the Norwegian Embassy in Canberra, we are working closely with the Australian authorities on risk assessment and also on the protection of Norwegian citizens and Norwegian interests. TANYA NOLAN: Do you believe that they may indeed be confused between Norway and Denmark's support for the Iraq war? OVE THORSHEIM: Well this is pure speculation. I have no idea but it's clear that Norwegian authorities are taking this threat seriously. TANYA NOLAN: Do you understand whether Norway's involvement in the Afghanistan war could be the reason behind these apparent new threats? OVE THORSHEIM: Many commentators have seen a link here, but again I don't have any background for any assessment of this and I'd rather not speculate to what the reason may be. TANYA NOLAN: Will Norway be considering the temporary closure of embassies or consulates in the Middle East? OVE THORSHEIM: I'm sure every state and country are considering this, but there is no immediate expectation of any closure of any Norwegian mission in the Middle East or elsewhere. TANYA NOLAN: Could there be any possible link between Norway's proposed peace plans back in 1993 over the Israel Palestinian conflict to the current threat by al-Qaeda? OVE THORSHEIM: Again, I've seen these links being made by some commentators, but personally I have no idea. TANYA NOLAN: The suggestion has also been made that Norway's investigation of Mullah Krekar, a refugee in Norway who led the Kurdish Islamic military group, Ansar al-Islam, which is suspected of having ties to al-Qaeda, could also be a possible reason for these apparent threats. OVE THORSHEIM: Well again, I've seen also these speculations, but for me they remain just that, speculations. TANYA NOLAN: Has there ever been any threat stated or implied by al-Qaeda or any other terrorist network against Norwegian interests? OVE THORSHEIM: Not as far as I know, no. TANYA NOLAN: Is any irony lost on you by the fact that Norway has always played a role in helping settle world conflicts by being the home of the Nobel Peace Prize? OVE THORSHEIM: Well, this is a very important work done in Norway and by Norway, and I hope we will be able to continue with this work. Sometimes it has been very fruitful and I think the peace prizes have contributed to helping people in many corners of the world and I sincerely hope that this is a process that will continue. ELEANOR HALL: Norway's Ambassador to Australia Ove Thorsheim speaking there to Tanya Nolan."
ROBERTSON: In this call to arms, Leon, it is not a call to attack the leaders of these countries, but very specifically he goes on to call on these followers, to attack the interests of the United States, of Great Britain, of Australia and of Norway. Interesting, because we haven't heard Norway lumped in with these countries before. HARRIS: That's what jumped out at me at first. It has got to be some sort of reference to Norway's participation in the war in Iraq. But what I am also not hearing is anything that seems to be a reference to any of the recent activity that we've seen happen around the world, particularly the terrorist strikes of last week..."
Major Terrorist Threats: Norway has not suffered a major terrorist incident but has been threatened twice in tapes released by senior Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. Norway, which opposed the war in Iraq, was puzzled by the threats, but two possible reasons behind Zawahiri's remarks are thought to be the country's participation in the war in Afghanistan and its investigation of Mullah Krekar, the founder of Ansar al-Islam."
